1 x ca. 450 g | Bulk Italian sausage |
1 gross | Onion chopped |
1 Packung | Frozen spinach cooked and well drained |
1 Packung | (8-oz) cream cheese softened |
1 | egg beaten |
2 Tasse | Shredded mozzarella cheese; divided |
2 Tasse | cheddar cheese shredded |
1 Tasse | cottage cheese |
1/4 Tasse | parmesan grated |
1/4 Teelöffel | salt |
1/4 Teelöffel | pepper |
1/8 Teelöffel | Ground cinnamon (optional) |
20 | Jumbo shell noodles cooked and drained |
| Basic marinara sauce of choice (add:) |
1/4 Tasse | white wine |
1/2 Teelöffel | basilicum dried |
1/4 Teelöffel | garlic minced |
In skillet brown sausage crumbled and onion. Transfer to large bowl. Allow to slightly cool. Add spinach, cream cheese, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, cheddar, cottage cheese, parmesan. Add seasonings. Mix well. Stuff cooked shells, arrange in 13 x 9 in baking dish. Spoon sauce over shells. Reserve some sauce for serving. Cover and bake 40 minutes. Uncover sprinkle with remaining mozzarella, return to oven for 5 - 8 minutes until cheese melts 8 ~10 servings
